Veterans circle with city employees

Grace Hill Cemetery is diligently maintained by a team of three dedicated employees year-round. However, Memorial Day stands out as a significant occasion for the cemetery, demanding additional effort to ensure it is presented immaculately for visitors who come to honor their departed loved ones with floral tributes. In preparation for Memorial Day, Grace Hill collaborates with various departments to enhance the cemetery's appearance.

City staff

Reico Thompson assumes responsibility as the designated weedeater throughout the season, while Dana Hulet tirelessly attends to mowing duties. We extend our gratitude to the gentlemen from the Parks Department, Sam Bornt and Carson Avery, for their invaluable assistance with weedeating. Additionally, we appreciate the support of Terence Hulet, the Airport Director, who contributed to the placement of the last four Veterans markers. Their collective efforts significantly contribute to the cemetery's pristine appearance, particularly in light of the challenging weather conditions, including nearly four inches of rain in the preceding week and a half before Memorial Day.

Given the saturation of the grounds caused by the recent heavy rainfall, we kindly request that visitors refrain from driving and parking on the grass. We encourage finding alternative routes instead of maneuvering around parked vehicles, ensuring the preservation of the cemetery's grounds.

Have a lovely Memorial Day!
