Typically, the cleanup day falls in line with the ODOT beautification annual trash off which takes place the third Saturday in April. However, to avoid overlapping with the Lions Club Easter event and the Springfest event, the City has opted to move the cleanup date to April 12th, 2025. The City of Perry would like to invite you to participate in the City-Wide Clean-up 8am-11:30pm (weather permitting). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the beautification of the City of Perry. Those that want to participate can bring items to the Perry Street Department located at 301 South 8th Street. All loose trash must be bagged for easy removal. Unmounted tires that do not exceed 14 inches wide and 60 inches overall in diameter will be accepted. Items that will NOT be accepted are brush, shingles, chemicals, liquids, paint, or contractor loads. Motor oil, hydraulic fluid, and antifreeze are accepted directly at the Convenience Center, as is yard waste, brush, and limbs. Those who have difficulty hauling items, please call 580-336-4241 to be added to the pick-up list. Updates will be posted to the City of Perry Facebook page and City of Perry app if needed.

COLD WEATHER AWARENESS TIP When outdoor temperatures drop below freezing, water lines are susceptible to freezing, which can cause various unwanted water issues. There are preventive measures customers can take to hopefully avoid repairs and high-water bills. Even after taking preventative measures, pipes could still freeze. When water freezes, it expands, which puts pressure on your pipes and can cause them to burst. Knowing how to prevent frozen pipes and knowing how to thaw frozen pipes can save from water leaks and costly repairs. Seek help from a professional if needed. Additionally, the City of Perry recommends customers log into the customer portal where water and electric usage can be monitored. With the portal, customers will also be able to set alarms in hopes customers can catch leaks faster. If you would like to set up your customer portal account, email portal@cityofperryok.com with your name, account number, and phone number. Instructions will be emailed back to you typically the next business day.

The Average Billing program helps the customer budget for utility expenses by allowing the customer to pay a revolving monthly utility payment based on the customer's 9-12 month utility billing history. We can now accept average billing forms from September through January. If you would like to sign up for average billing, City Hall has forms available until January 31st, 2025. We will resume sign-ups September 1st, 2025. To qualify, customers must... 1) have a history of at least 9 months at the same address prior to the date of signing up for the program, 2) zero-utility balance at the time of signing up, 3) have no late fees or return checks/drafts for at least 9 months. The full ordinance on average billing will eventually be published on the City’s website but until then, forms and copies of the ordinance are available at City Hall.
